After a first team debut as a substitute on Saturday, Mineiro starts for the reserves tonight as they take on Stoke City live on Chelsea TV.

The 33-year-old Brazilian international will be keen to impress after having had a taste of action at Stamford Bridge, and is the standout name in a young side.

Winger Scott Sinclair also starts, as does Miroslav Stoch. Both have featured on the first team bench this season, with Sinclair making a number of cameo appearances.

The free-scoring Fabio Borini continues in the central striking role, and will be hoping to add to the brace he scored at Portsmouth in the league.

Brendan Rodgers' men have enjoyed a bright start to the season, and sit second in the southern section of the Premier Reserve League, three points adrift of Aston Villa, the only side to have beaten them in four games this season.

That was the last league game, when a goal from former Chelsea man Steve Sidwell was enough to condemn the Blues to defeat.

Their most recent outing was the 4-0 win over Liverpool at Cobham nine days ago, and Rodgers will be hoping his side can build on their impressive display that day with a repeat at Brentford tonight.

Rodgers has spoken at the pleasure he has taken from the side's performances as they take on the best young sides around, whether it be Manchester United or AC Milan, and he believes the Blues will be full of confidence for tonight's game.

Stoke have named an 11 bursting with first team experience, all eager to impress as they look to fight their way into contention for places.

The Potters' bloated squad means familiar names will feature for the second string after Tony Pulis' men beat Arsenal 2-1 at the Britannia Stadium on Saturday.

Michael Tonge, signed in the summer from Sheffield United looks likely to start on the left of midfield with youngster Tom Soares alongside in the centre.

At the back, Leon Cort, who gifted Nicolas Anelka his goal in Staffordshire in September will play at centre-half, while up front Richard Cresswell and Vincent Pericard will provide a physical test for the Chelsea defence. The experienced Steve Simonsen starts in goal.
